Volunteer with us
Volunteers are an important and integral part of HOUSE Biennial. We highly value the support that we receive from volunteers which enables us to deliver the festival each year. Our volunteers gain first hand experience of putting on exhibitions and events and have the opportunity to develop a wealth of new skills. Volunteering with HOUSE is also a social activity that gives participants the chance to meet likeminded people, artists and curators as well as our visiting public.
A key area in which volunteers support HOUSE Biennial is front of house: invigilating the exhibition spaces, talking with visitors about the artists’ work, providing information about HOUSE, collecting audience feedback and ensuring the security of all exhibited works. Volunteers can also get involved in assisting the commissioned artists with installing their work, helping out at events and documenting our activities.
Previous volunteers have often made new networks and organised socials and some have stayed in touch and taken up internships. There’s lots on offer and we welcome you all to meet the team and the artists, so please, if you are interested in joining our team email Claire Wearn at: [email protected]
