3 – 31 May
Wednesday – Sunday, 11am – 5pm
HOUSE 2015 is working in partnership with Outside In and Phoenix Brighton to present a unique exhibition showcasing the work of nine artists: Aradne, Blair McCormick, John Ackhurst, Jonathan Kenneth William Pettitt, Luc Raesmith, Martin Phillimore, Michelle Roberts, Paul Bellingham and Sally Ward.
The exhibitors were selected from an open call to East Sussex artists affiliated with Outside In, proposing work relating to the HOUSE 2015 theme of Edge and Shift.
Founded by Pallant House Gallery in 2006, Outside In provides a platform for artists who have a desire to create, and who see themselves as facing barriers to the art world due to health, disability, social circumstance or isolation. The goal of the project is to create a fairer art world and to challenge conventional assumptions about whose work can and should be seen. The work in this exhibition stands on its own merit and demonstrates the power and breadth of the art being created outside of the mainstream art world.
There will be a series of related events and workshops taking place throughout the duration of the show.
